This course is specially designed for K–12 teachers and educators who are brand new to artificial intelligence—no tech background or prior experience needed. If you're just starting to wonder what AI is and how it might be useful in your classroom, this course is for you. You'll learn how AI can help simplify your workload, boost student engagement, and personalize instruction, all while developing a basic understanding of AI literacy and ethical use. This is a beginner-friendly introduction to using AI in practical, time-saving ways to enhance everyday teaching and learning. Penn faculty share their expertise on key topics in the learning sciences, such as engagement, its links to motivation and interest, and effective strategies for scaffolding student independence. The course features the Yourway AI platform, designed by Yourway Learning, which is embedded with learner-centered pedagogy to help educators leverage AI for greater efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, faculty will guide you through critical ethical considerations surrounding AI use in education, helping you develop a thoughtful and responsible approach to integrating AI into your teaching practice.
